A defining chapter for this modern British dance music hero, the album boasts collaborations with house icon Kerri Chandler, jungle pioneer Goldie, UKG staple MJ Cole, bass house master Chris Lorenzo, and Sheffield rapper Coco on a stellar hip-hop/d’n’b tip. Also on the album are fellow Bristolian Gardna, the “Original Rave Whisperer” MC SGT Pokes, and more.

Spanning old-school rave, UK garage, classic house, retro funk and techno, We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family highlights Eats Everything’s colossal range as a producer. Rave energy encompasses the album, found on ‘Absolutely Mental’ ft. SGT Pokes and ‘The Sanctuary’ ft. HQA, both brimming with warehouse rave-ready drum breaks. The title track, ‘We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family’, dives into wobbly leftfield bass, featuring the poetic narration of Metalheadz founder Goldie, reflecting on the hedonistic beauty of formative 90s illegal raves. Similarly but on the other end of the spectrum, ‘The Deeper’ sees house pioneer Kerri Chandler drop wise words over a classic deep house groove. ‘One Call’, a sweet and soulful R&B-tinged garage collaboration with MJ Cole, adds a tender touch, while ‘Side By Side’, a bouncing house-meets-garage cut featuring Gardna, captures the chaos of life on the road. Other highlights include previously heard hits ‘Happy People’ with Stevie Appleton, the 2024-released ‘Ghosts’ with Chris Lorenzo and the brand new, extremely sleazy and sassy ‘Wowalicious’.

The We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family album follows Eats’s hit 2024 single ‘Upside Down’, a long-awaited Niles Rodgers-approved edit of a Diana Ross disco classic. As an unreleased ID, the track took on a life of its own, becoming a sought-after secret weapon for the biggest names in dance music, including Dom Dolla, Chris Lake, and Groove Armada. With the blessing of the original writers, Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards (the first time it’s ever been given an official blessing for a remix), Eats was able to release the track officially in November 2024. Since then, it’s been a mainstay in the Beatport Top 10, a Radio 1 Hottest Record, featuring in the biggest dance playlists on Spotify and Apple Music, Mint and DanceXL, respectively. The track also featured on BBC 1’s much-loved historical football programme Match Of The Day (avg. 4M viewers).

“This album is an encapsulation of my experiences with dance music throughout the ages,” says Eats Everything, aka Dan Pearce. “I touch on almost every genre, from D’n’B to boogie. Some of it’s for the dancefloor, some of it’s not. There are twists and turns, some beautiful stuff, and some gnarly stuff. I’ve collaborated with heroes of mine. It’s been a long time coming, with many pitfalls and ups and downs, but it’s ultimately been a labour of love.”

Eats recently kicked off his huge residency at XOYO in London, that ran until February, he invited some of the most exciting names in dance music. Week 3 featured album collaborator MJ Cole alongside Dr Dubplate and Storm Mollison, while Week 4 saw Eats playing all night long, going deep into his impressive record collection.

This February, Eats Everything headlines ANTS events in Melbourne, Sydney, and Bali, alongside Franky Rizardo, Melé, and Paco Osuna. Later in the summer he’ll be performing at Kaleidoscope Festival in London’s Alexandra Palace Park, as well as Hideout Festival in Croatia. He’s also going back-to-back with Chris Lorenzo at New York’s iconic Brooklyn Mirage and making a grand return to Ibiza. Last year, he lit up Hï, Ushuaïa, and Amnesia, playing for Glitterbox, FISHER Presents Wednesdays, elrow and Defected.
