\\\\\\\”I\\\\\\\’ve had a really strong relationship with Knee Deep in Sound over the last five or six years, and Daley has been someone who has been instrumental in helping me rediscover my sound. He\\\\\\\’s someone who believes in me and offers honest feedback, working with me to make sure that my music is hitting the right spots, and for that I\\\\\\\’ll always be grateful.\\\\\\\” – Ronnie Spiteri
\\\\\\\’Nowhere\\\\\\\’ is his fifth release on the label, and a powerful demonstration of Daley\\\\\\\’s enduring belief in Spiteri\\\\\\\’s musical output. Comprising two tracks that reflect the weighty house sound that Ronnie Spiteri is now known for, the EP fuses chuggy basslines with anthemic vocals to deliver a 90s-inspired package that is infused with peak-time energy from the off.
\\\\\\\”After about a year in the studio working on a full catalogue of new music, I sent Daley about twelve tracks and there wasn\\\\\\\’t one track on the playlist that he knocked back. It took him a month to road test them all and in the end, we worked together to work out which two tracks he\\\\\\\’d release for this EP – it\\\\\\\’s been a really collaborative process.\\\\\\\” – Ronnie Spiteri
References to the oldschool sounds of the illegal raves that soundtracked much of Spiteri\\\\\\\’s childhood are clear, and his affinity to house music is deep-rooted. It may be a cliché for most, but the authenticity that shines through each release for Spiteri only serves to cement his credentials as a producer and DJ whose existence is inextricably connected to dance music.
\\\\\\\”The music itself is really a homage to the big 90s house tracks that were a big part of my childhood. This EP is the first release from a full run of new music this year, so I wanted to make sure they set the tone and had a big impact. There are catchy hooks, crossover accapellas, and meaty basslines – this is the sound that I love and that represents where I\\\\\\\’m at right now. And there\\\\\\\’s plenty more to come.\\\\\\\” – Ronnie Spiteri
Following a period of self-reflection and creative re-discovery, the \\\\\\\’Nowhere\\\\\\\’ EP represents the sound of an artist who is decisively stepping into a new phase, one which will see him touching base with labels including Altra Moda, Bandidos, and Danny Howard\\\\\\\’s Nothing Else Matters over the coming months with \\\\\\\’Nowhere\\\\\\\’ setting the benchmark for what\\\\\\\’s next.
